Stage 8 — Archived

The job is fully closed. Final accounts settled, retention released, records filed.

Archived is the end of the road. The works are complete, the DLP has run its course, final retention has been released and the accounts are settled. The project is closed and its records are filed for reference.

What happens here

  • Final accounts are reconciled and the last payments cleared.
  • Documentation is closed out and filed (project folders are kept for the record).
  • The project drops out of the active list — it no longer appears among jobs in EXECUTION, HANDOVER or DLP.

Your job at this stage

Close it cleanly. Make sure nothing is left open — no unpaid claims, no unresolved variations, no missing documents. A well-archived job is one you can return to years later and reconstruct exactly what happened.

A one-way trip

Like every stage, ARCHIVED is reached forwards only. A project cannot be moved back out of the archive into an active stage — see the lifecycle overview for why the sequence is immutable.
