Stage 4 — Awarded
Contract signed, deposit received. Now you set the job up so site work can begin.
Awarded is the moment the job becomes yours to deliver. The contract is signed, the deposit is in, but no one is on site yet. This stage is about turning a won bid into a ready-to-run project.
What happens here
- The contract is executed (e-signature) and the deposit recorded. Permits that the works require are triggered here — see Permits.
- An AWARDED project is often created directly from the accepted quotation, so the contract value, payment terms and retention rate carry across without re-keying.
- You assign the Project Manager and Lead Designer, and set the commencement and projected completion dates.
- The contract value, retention rate (in basis points —
500= 5%) and payment milestones are confirmed.
Your job at this stage
Set it up properly so Execution runs smoothly. Build the programme / Gantt, line up suppliers by trade, and make sure every permit is in motion before anyone swings a hammer.
What comes next
Once site work starts, advance the project to Execution.
