Curtains

The final trade — soft furnishings and window dressings fitted once the space is finished, clean and ready to hand over.

Curtains is the last trade on the list and usually the last on site. Curtains, blinds and soft furnishings are fitted once everything else is finished, clean and snag-free — they're the dressing that completes a handover-ready space.

What it covers

  • Curtain tracks, rods and pelmets.
  • Curtains, sheers and blinds.
  • Final adjustment and dressing.

Where it sits in the sequence

Last. After the general clean and the delicate wallpaper, immediately before — or as part of — the client handover.

What a PM watches for

  • Fix into proper backing. Tracks pull out of unreinforced plaster. Confirm backing was provided when the partition went up.
  • Measure after finishes. Drops and widths are taken to the finished floor and window, not the drawing. Measure late.
  • A clean final impression. Curtains are often the very last thing fitted before the client walks in. Dress them properly — it's the finishing touch they remember.
